Joe Galloway captured about 500 Marines with his down-in-the-mud, bullet-ripping memories of the Vietnam War's worst times in a solo appearance at Miramar Air Station late yesterday.

Joe gave them the blood and tears and the Marines stood to applaud when he finished.
